Comienza TAUP 2021 (17th International Conference on Topics in Astroparticle and Underground Physics)

La edición número 17 de la conferencia internacional «Topics in Astroparticle and Underground Physics» (TAUP 2021) ha comenzado hoy 26 de agosto de manera virtual.
Celebrada cada dos años, cubre los desarrollos experimentales y teóricos en Física Subterránea y de Astropartículas.
Esta edición ha sido organizada por el IFIC de Valencia, con la colaboración de otras instituciones españolas, entre las que se incluye el CAPA.
En ella participan diversos miembros del CAPA, presentando resultados obtenidos en el marco de distintos experimentos y colaboraciones.

Conferencia, viernes 28 de mayo: Transformando el Consejo de Seguridad Nuclear para mejorar la seguridad nuclear y la protección radiológica

Francisco Castejón, consejero del CSN, impartirá una conferencia en el Aula Magna del Paraninfo de Zaragoza el próximo viernes 28 de mayo, a las 12h, con el título:

Transformando el Consejo de Seguridad Nuclear para mejorar la seguridad nuclear y la protección radiológica.

El papel del Consejo de Seguridad Nuclear (CSN) en el contexto de la situación actual será el tema central de la conferencia. La renovación en la que se encuentra inmerso dicho organismo pretende aportar mas transparencia con el fin de generar más confianza y seguridad en la sociedad. En este sentido la ciencia ciudadana podría jugar un papel importante.

Up to now science has failed to identify what makes up to 85% of the matter of the Universe. Elucidating the nature of dark matter constitutes a key challenge in modern physics. MultiDark is a Consolider Network supported by the Spanish Research Agency, in which theoretical and experimental groups with particle physicists, astrophysicists and cosmologists from 18 Spanish universities and research institutes, experts in astroparticle physics, join efforts to take up this task from a multidisciplinary perspective.

Next IAXO Collaboration Meeting in Zaragoza, 22-24 Oct 2019 🗓

Next meeting of the IAXO collaboration (the 10th) will take place in Zaragoza, on 22-24 October 2019. More than 40 scientists will meet in the Science Faculty of the University of Zaragoza. The main goal is to proceed with the first steps to build BabyIAXO in DESY-Hamburg. BabyIAXO is the first experimental stage of the IAXO program, recently endorsed by the Physics Review Committee of DESY.

Arranque científico de la Acción COST CA18108 en Barcelona

La celebración del primer «workshop» de la Acción COST CA18108 Quantum gravity phenomenology in the multi-messenger approach tuvo lugar en Barcelona los días 2, 3 y 4 de octubre. Con un total de 60 participantes de 20 países europeos, más Japón, físicos teóricos y experimentales debatieron sobre posibles efectos en la detección de los «mensajeros cósmicos» (fotones, neutrinos, rayos cósmicos y ondas gravitacionales) según distintos modelos de gravedad cuántica. Esta conferencia ha supuesto el arranque científico (después del administrativo que tuvo lugar en Bruselas en marzo de este año) de la Acción COST, coordinada desde la Universidad de Zaragoza, que durará hasta marzo de 2023.
