Dark Quantum in the Tercer Milenio science supplement

The DarkQuantum project, coordinated from the Center for Astroparticles and High Energy Physics (CAPA) at the University of Zaragoza, was recently featured in the Tercer Milenio science section of the newspaper Heraldo de Aragón. The article highlights the project’s innovative approach, combining quantum technologies and particle physics to tackle one of the greatest mysteries of the universe: dark matter.
In its first months, the project has already achieved a major technical milestone: the first quantum measurement using a superconducting qubit in a double-cavity system, performed in Zaragoza thanks to the collaboration with the QMAD group from INMA (CSIC–Unizar). This breakthrough is a key step toward building ultra-sensitive detectors to be used in future axion searches, both at the Canfranc Underground Laboratory and in the BabyIAXO magnet in Germany.
