Dark Matter Day 2026

“Hunting for dark matter” gymkhana: Friday, October 30,  starting at 5:30 p.m.

On October 31st, “Dark Matter Day” is celebrated worldwide with the aim of sharing with the general public what we know—as well as the questions that remain—about one of the greatest mysteries in contemporary physics. For this reason, professors and researchers from the Center for Astroparticles and High Energy Physics (CAPA) at the University of Zaragoza are joining in the celebrations, as they have done since 2017.

Children and adults are invited to participate on Friday, October 30, starting at 5:30 p.m., to learn about dark matter by taking part in a series of activities at the Faculty of Sciences—including an astronomical observation session with telescopes beginning at 8:30 p.m. (weather permitting).

The activities are designed to be fun and engaging for everyone—from primary school children to teenagers, and even adults.

Admission is free and registration is not necessary.
