Publication of the final results of the CAST experiment

The international collaboration CAST (CERN Axion Solar Telescope) was created in the early 2000s and has had the participation and leadership of researchers from the Centre for Astroparticles and High Energy Physics (CAPA-Unizar) since its inception.

CAST has culminated the efforts of more than two decades of work with the publication in Physical Review Letters of the most restrictive limit to date in the search for solar axions.

This work, with the latest data from the experiment, establishes a new limit for the axion-photon coupling, 5.8×10⁻¹¹ GeV⁻¹, representing a substantial improvement over previous measurements.
